Position Overview

The Human and Organization Performance Effectiveness (HOPE) program in the School of Professional Studies at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus invites qualified scholars and professionals to submit applications for part-time Instructor positions. Candidates should have expertise in continuous improvement, instructional design, human motivation, human performance, human resource recruiting, organizational communication, organizational development, organizational strategy, performance management, organizational systems, process improvement, or resource allocation. The Master of Science in Human and Organization Performance Effectiveness (HOPE) prepares leaders to align individual performance with organizational goals and equip them with essential skills for organizational success.

Job Description

  • Assessment of student work based on developed curriculums aimed at defined competencies.

  • Curriculum includes a variety of assessments, most from real-world examples.

  • Coaching students with capstone organizational-based projects.

  • Foster collaborative and interactive learning environments that encourage critical thinking and meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Timely responsiveness to students is expected to enhance the learning journey.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s in Business Administration, Communication Studies, Education, Human Resources, Instructional Design, Leadership Studies, Organizational Development, or Public Administration, or a similar discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Three years of experience in continuous improvement, instructional design, human motivation, human performance, human resource recruiting, organizational communication, organizational development, organizational strategy, performance management, organizational systems, process improvement, or resource allocation.

  • Two years of teaching experience (credit or professional development) in continuous improvement, instructional design, human motivation, human performance, human resource recruiting, organizational communication, organizational development, organizational strategy, performance management, organizational systems, process improvement, or resource allocation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of prior success in teaching, in-person and/or online (e.g., course evaluations, supervisor ratings).

  • Experience with learning management systems.

  • Excellence in written communication skills as demonstrated in application materials.

  • Involvement in relevant industry associations and communities as demonstrated in application materials.
