Position Profile

The College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CASSH) at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse seeks to maintain an ongoing pool of potential instructors to serve program needs. Instructors will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, maintaining currency in their content area, evaluating student work, providing feedback, and maintaining appropriate records.

Job Duties

  • Prepare and hold classes (face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online)
  • Evaluate student performance
  • Develop instructional design and curriculum
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for students
  • Maintain and provide regular office hours
  • Provide advising and/or other service to the department

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a field appropriate to the needs of the department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree
  • In rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification or licensure, or a combination of a baccalaureate and experience
  • Specific certification/licensure or clinical experience may be required depending on the program
