Pool Attendant/Server
Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club, located in Coral Gables, FL, is seeking a driven individual for a Part-Time Pool Attendant/Server role. This position combines luxury hospitality with food and beverage service in a private club setting.
About the role
The Pool Attendant & Server provides exceptional member and guest experiences at our pool facilities, ensuring attentive, personalized service in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is personable, proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoys working outdoors while delivering high-end service.
Responsibilities
- Member Experience & Hospitality: Deliver warm, professional, and personalized service. Greet members by name, anticipate needs, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Respond promptly to requests and concerns while upholding the club's service standards.
- Pool Operations: Set up, organize, and maintain the pool deck before opening. Clean and sanitize lounge chairs, umbrellas, tables, and pool furniture. Manage towel inventory, distribution, and laundering. Oversee lounge chair reservations and keep the pool deck clean throughout the shift.
- Food & Beverage Service: Provide attentive poolside service, accurately enter orders into the POS system, and operate within a cashless environment. Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation standards. Assist with opening, closing, and side work for pool food service.
- Food Safety & Sanitation: Follow all food handling, sanitation, and health department regulations. Maintain cleanliness of service stations and ensure safe food delivery. Practice proper handwashing and cross-contamination prevention.
- Safety & Facility Oversight: Monitor pool deck conditions, enforce club policies, and report hazards or unsafe conditions. Assist during emergencies and administer basic first aid when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, resort, country club, or pool service experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and team-oriented personality.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Required Certifications
- Current CPR Certification
- Current First Aid Certification
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with POS systems.
