Join our team at Pier Sixty-Six Resort, South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, as a full-time Pool Attendant. You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests, ensuring their poolside experience is exceptional.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and assist with their arrival: provide an overview of the pool area and service, offer towels, and escort to seating area.
- Verify guest room numbers to ensure only hotel guests are utilizing the pool areas.
- Check in with Host to review all cabana and chair reservations for the day.
- Set up all daybeds and cabanas and tables according to service standards.
- Answer questions on menu selections to guests.
- Ensure adequate supply of linen and amenities.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their pool experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day.
- Clean and maintain pool area continuously.
- Pick up and drop off linens to/from linen area.
- Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures.
- Complete opening and closing duties, including restocking items, organizing towels, and all pool attendant supplies.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are well kept and professional.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Run food and bus tables to ensure flawless service.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front-of-house employees.
- Practice effective listening (seek to understand).
- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area and the general property.
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Be aware of situations where guests cannot safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager.
- Complete all side-work thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
- Close out checks in ten minutes or less after guests have paid, including guest’s name, table number, and room number with the appropriate guest count.
- Participate in ongoing training and encourage the personal development of all associates/coworkers.
- Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic in challenging outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing, always in a professional manner toward guests and associates.
- Previous experience working outdoors in diverse weather conditions preferred.
- Ability to observe pool activities closely, identifying any potential hazards or safety concerns, and taking prompt action to address them.
