What You’ll Do
The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for performing nocturnal polysomnography, scoring, and performing therapeutic intervention for patients with sleep related breathing disorders.
The technologist works collaboratively with other care team members, physicians and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes.
Has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and with others.
This individual works under the direct supervision of the Lead Technician/Sleep Lab Manager.
Required Educational Degree & Certifications
Required Educational Degree: Technical Training Major/Area of Concentration: Polysomnography (sleep technology)
Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Must meet one of the following: Sleep Technologist (RST) through American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) through Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT), Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
BLS - Basic Life Support required for all caregivers.
PREFERRED Certifications, Credentials and Licenses
Preferred Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: *Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Required Experience
Required Experience: 1-2 years related work experience
