Role Overview: This position involves performing diagnostic polysomnographic (PSG), titration, multiple sleep latency (MSLT), and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests (MWT) to assist in diagnosing sleep/wake disorders. The technician records accurate data for physicians, educates patients on therapies, and follows up when necessary. They must understand testing equipment, monitor patients, and ensure proper documentation per standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct sleep studies and neurological testing across diverse patient populations.Operate and troubleshoot specialized testing equipment, understanding its structure and function.Maintain knowledge of AASM standards and accreditation requirements.Educate patients on procedures and prescribed therapies, and provide follow-up support.Supervise students or staff involved in patient care and testing processes.Participate in scoring and data analysis tasks as needed. Qualifications & Skills Graduation from an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic or Respiratory Technology preferred.At least two years of relevant experience in sleep disorders preferred.Knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, and proficiency with computer documentation.RRTs must obtain RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty credential within two years or be enrolled in accredited training programs.Licensing requirements vary by location, with mandatory continuing education and BLS certification within 60 days.
