About the role

Full-time, night shift position (3x 12-hour shifts: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights). Sign-on bonus of $15,000 available to eligible candidates. Night shift pay differential included. Location: Bloomington Hospital.

This position performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies and may provide supervision of other staff. Responsibilities include preparing patient equipment for testing, interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder issues, and explaining pre- and post-testing procedures. The role involves performing and documenting testing per lab protocols, monitoring patients throughout testing, and intervening as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues. Additional duties include assisting with scoring sleep studies, generating reports, preparing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining equipment, and determining and reporting needed repairs or replacements. The role requires maintaining credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BPRT). Certifications obtained through the American Board of Sleep Medicine will be honored through their certification date or until credentials through the BPRT are obtained.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate's degree is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience working with pediatric sleep studies.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist through the NBRC or Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
• Must obtain certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or certification as a Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) within 2 years of date of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA; other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
