About the role
Location: Kyle, TX, Facility: Seton Medical Center Hays, Department/Specialty: Sleep Disorders, Schedule: Night shift | PRN. Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
- Prepare patient and equipment for ordered testing.
- Interview patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
- Perform and document testing.
- Monitor patient throughout testing and intervene as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
- Collect, analyze and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; score, interpret and report results of sleep studies.
- Prepare, calibrate, repair and maintain equipment required for testing.
- Determine and report needed repairs/replacements.
Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- RRT Sleep Disorder Specialist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
