About the role
Performs all functions related to polysomnographic exams and multiple sleep latency testing to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders; assists with clinical and administrative oversight of polysomnographic technicians.
Responsibilities
- Performs all polysomnograms and MSLTs according to clinical practice guidelines, as well as departmental policy and procedures.
- Provides patient education.
- Organizes and prioritizes workload and scheduling of patient testing in an efficient and effective manner.
- Mentors polysomnographic techs and provides educational oversight.
- Assists with billing documentation and maintains department records according to departmental policy/procedure.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years with sleep study testing
- Graduate of polysomnography course or completion of an approved sleep lab training program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- PREFERRED: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Basic EEG course
- RPSGT, CRT or RRT
- Computer experience
- Previous supervisory experience
