Scope Of Work

A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and designee (department director/manager/supervisor) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide supervision of other staff.

Qualifications

  • Required Formal training in polysomnography program and/or enrolled in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option OR enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP online Self Study Modules
  • Required non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-Step online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment
  • All technical staff must participate in at minimum 10 hours per year (averaged over three years) of sleep-related continuing education credits
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Provider certification
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • 1-3 years

  • CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists RPSGT or CPSGT
  • Upon required OrCRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Upon Hire required OrCRT-REGISTERED_SLEEP_TECHNOLOGIST-ABSM
  • #N/A Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
  • Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross

Pay

$3,000 sign-on bonus to external hires and internal new grads currently in a student role.
