Essential Duties
- Review history, physical, medications, order, and study protocol.
- Complete and verify documentation.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to the International 10-20 system.
- Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting and titration.
- Congduct artifact-free studies and make adjustments.
- Implements appropriate interventions including CPAP, Bi-level, and oxygen administration.
- Assists with Sleep/Wake stages.
- Cleans equipment according to protocol.
- Makes inventory checks.
- Scores polysomnographic studies according to The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events.
- Serves as a resource for Polysomnographic technicians.
Qualifications
- Must be registered by the BRPT.
- Must obtain 10 CECs in Sleep per year.
- Must have valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Minimum one year experience with psg and cpap titrations preferred but not required.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide great customer service under stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Ability to work both independently and with co-workers.
- Ability to use and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to follow the direction of supervisory personnel.
