What We’re Looking For
We are currently hiring a full-time Polybag Operator. As a Polybag Operator, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and maintaining the packaging lines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Regular checks for proper feed of product through baggers for maximum efficiency.
- Monitors and adjusts vibrators to gain optimum bagger performance.
- Insures by regular checks that baggers are being fed with enough product to run efficiently. Notifies supervisor and Package Lead of problems.
- Checks bag weights and adjusts to meet Company standards.
- Cleans scales at least twice per shift and calibrates as needed.
- Operates bag machines and adjusts for optimized production. Maintains jaws for proper sealing.
- Sets up and adjusts Fallas, Wexxar and Tapper properly and efficiently.
- Changes paper and poly rolls.
- Keeps Wexxar full of needed carboard materials. Checks poly codes with Q.A. and continuously monitors for accuracy.
- Makes adjustments as needed for proper operation.
- Adjusts Ink-jet coder for optimum code placement and clarity on case.
- Keeps baggers clean of static product. Cleans take-away belts.
- Keeps floors clean of debris.
- Insures all of packaging is clean and food safe.
- Properly completes all required documentation.
- Along with Other duties as Assigned.
Food Safety/Security Duties and Responsibilities
- Use proper food safety PPE and maintain general housekeeping.
- Fill out glass breakage reports on any broken light bulbs.
- Upon task completion, account for all tools, spare parts, materials and shop supplies. Ensure that equipment and work area is clean and free of debris. Return items to storage and dispose of consumables.
- Prevent any product contamination by refraining from use of tape, wire, string or any other temporary repair. If temporary repair must be used, correct the temporary repair as soon as possible.
- Selected employee will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and E-Verify.
Required Experience
Experience running VFFS Machines and supporting equipment.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required
- Packaging line experience.
- Basic maintenance skills.
- Troubleshooting skills.
