Polk County Area Director II

About the role

The ideal candidate will lead a team of volunteers and staff in developing and implementing a comprehensive ministry strategy to reach every kid within their defined area. They will also manage financial resources, maintain accurate records, and support the spiritual development of both kids and adults.

Responsibilities

• Spiritual Development: Develop a personal growth plan, foster a vibrant spiritual life, and actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
• Leadership Development: Cast vision for reaching “every kid,” recruit and train new staff and leaders, and provide quality summer staff and work crew.
• Resource Development: Lead the area’s fundraising strategy, coordinate events, and build the Young Life brand.
• Direct Ministry: Engage in all levels of contact work, lead a model Young Life club, and serve on a summer assignment.
• Ministry Support: Manage finances, maintain accurate records, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred
• At least two years as a successful Area Director
• Completed Core Training — Phase One
• Proven leadership and relational skills with both kids and adults
• A call to reach kids with the Gospel
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle extreme conditions and physical demands
