About the role

The Patrol Officer is responsible for ensuring public safety and enforcing laws in conformance with department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Duties include crime prevention, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, emergency response, and community policing.

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts driver's license
• Active Massachusetts Class A Firearms License
• Successfully completed an MPTC-certified full-time police academy (preferred)
• Meet physical standards established by the Municipal Police Training Committee
• Able to obtain and maintain certification through the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission

Pay

FY27 hourly base pay range for a Patrol Officer: $28.53–$36.24, based on a 40-hour work week.

Schedule

4 days on, 2 days off.

Anticipated start date: September 1, 2026.
