About the role
The Town of Belchertown is accepting internal applications for the position of full-time Patrol Officer in the Belchertown Police Department. The Patrol Officer is responsible for ensuring public safety and enforcing laws in conformance with department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Requirements
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Active Massachusetts Class A Firearms License
- Successfully completed an MPTC-certified full-time police academy (preferred)
- Meet physical standards as established by the Municipal Police Training Committee
- Able to obtain and maintain certification through the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission
Pay
FY27 hourly base pay range for a Patrol Officer: $28.53–$36.24, based on a 40-hour work week.
Schedule
4 days on, 2 days off. Anticipated start date: September 1, 2026.
