Police Officer (Open to new and lateral Officers) - Chaska

About the role

The City of Chaska seeks a full-time patrol officer to join the Chaska Police Department. Located in Carver County, Chaska is home to approximately 30,000 residents. The department recently relocated to a newly constructed, state-of-the-art Public Safety Facility that opened in early 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide law enforcement services within the city limits
  • Respond to emergency calls and non-emergency incidents
  • Conduct patrols to maintain public safety
  • Investigate crimes and assist in solving cases
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and agencies

Requirements

  • Currently hold a valid Minnesota driver's license or be able to obtain one by the hire date
  • Hold an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Be licensed by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards (POST) or be able to obtain licensure by September 1, 2026

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical fitness and stamina suitable for law enforcement duties
  • Knowledge of local laws and ordinances

Skills

  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
