Veterans Employment Representative I - Opt PO2
- Automated multiple-choice test to be taken at one of the CMS Assessment Centers.
- Performance test may be required.
- Completed online or CMS-100 employment application is required.
- A copy of the application is needed upon retaking the test.
- Applicants must be available to work in the county choices they have selected.
- To change county choices, complete and sign a Change of Information Form (CMS-263) and submit it to: Examining & Counseling Division, 401 S. Spring Street, 500 Stratton Office Building, Springfield, IL 62706, Fax (217) 524-8740.
Promotional Grades
State of Illinois employees who are currently certified are eligible to receive promotional grades for most titles within state government. Online applications are not accepted for promotional grading. View the Promotional Grades page for further instructions.
Upward Mobility Program (UMP) Grades
All certified and promotional probationary employees in an AFSCME-represented bargaining unit whose contract so provides and all employees in a non-bargaining unit position classification for which a certificate or a credential is issued by the Upward Mobility Program are eligible for participation. Employees with an Upward Mobility grade must bid on vacancies posted for their work location or for other work locations in their current work county.
Other Methods Of Consideration
- Certified/previously certified employees eligible for actions such as reinstatements, transfers, voluntary reductions, parallel pay grade movement, etc.
- Complete a Bid Form and submit it to the hiring agency along with a copy of your online or CMS-100 employment application.
- The hiring agency will submit the necessary paperwork to CMS for prequalification, if applicable.
