Key Responsibilities

  • Providing protection for the White House Complex, Vice President's Residence, Treasury Building, foreign diplomatic missions, and embassies in the area.
  • Serving as support for travel for the President, Vice President, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
  • Enforcing protective responsibilities under Title 18, U.S. Code Section 3056A.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • U.S. citizenship and a valid driver's license.
  • At least 21 and under 40 years old, with exceptions for federal law enforcement veterans.
  • Ability to carry and maintain proficiency with a firearm.
  • Corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better; uncorrected no worse than 20/100.
  • Hearing ability with no more than 25 decibels loss in specified ranges.
  • Successful completion of drug testing and intensive training at FLETC and James J. Rowley Training Center.
