Police Officer Discovery Unit

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to internal entities.
• Perform data entry on the MTA PD Intranet.
• Submit required discovery compliance materials electronically to District Attorney Portals.
• Record Keeping: Case enhancement, Case analysis.
• Become familiar with and perform redactions for video/audio files.
• Aid in the transition to a new records management system.
• Perform other duties as assigned for Discovery compliance operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Police Officers with a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Police Officer with the MTA Police Department.
• Knowledge of MTA Discovery Compliance Policy and Procedures.
• Proficiency in preparing reports.
• Highly motivated and organized.
• Good time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Prior experience in administrative units preferred.
• Prior experience with video/audio redactions preferred.
• Commitment to serve in this assignment for a minimum of two (2) years.
• Advanced communication skills including interacting with District Attorneys, Court Clerks, and other agency representatives.
• Working knowledge of New York State Discovery Reform.
