Police Officer - BLET Certified

About the role

The Town of Zebulon is seeking dedicated professionals to join its growing community. As a Police Officer, you will perform a wide variety of proactive, reactive, and preventative law enforcement duties, including responding to calls for service, enforcing traffic and criminal laws, making arrests, and conducting patrols.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and enforce traffic and criminal laws.
• Make arrests and serve warrants.
• Process and manage crime scenes and evidence.
• Conduct high-visibility patrols, business checks, and welfare checks.
• Prepare and submit detailed and accurate reports on investigations and incidents.
• Prepare and submit daily reports of activities.
• Maintain situational awareness by reading reports and attending briefings.
• Assist with departmental programs, special events, and community outreach.
• Participate in regular trainings and continuing education to maintain required certifications.
• Maintain equipment, including firearm and vehicle.
• Operate a computer and maintain records and reports.
• Testify in court.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification.
• Minimum qualifications include meeting all essential job functions as expected by the State of N.C. Criminal Justice Training & Standards Division.
• General or Probationary Certification from the State of N.C. Criminal Justice Training & Standards Division.
• No prohibitive criminal or driving history.
• Valid N.C. Driver’s License.

Salary range depends on qualifications for each position. Different job titles have distinct hiring ranges aligned with their respective classification requirements.

Pay

ANITICIPATED HIRING RANGE: $58,832 - $88,248
