About the role
The Fox Crossing Police Department seeks to hire a dedicated individual to join their team. Located in the northeast corner of Winnebago County, Fox Crossing is a rapidly growing village with a 2024 population estimate of 19,285. The department currently has 31 sworn officers, each serving in various specialized roles.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the streets, highways, and public areas of the community.
- Investigate traffic accidents.
- Enforce state statues, local ordinances, and traffic laws.
- Aid persons injured until First Responder or ambulance personnel arrive.
- Respond to and investigate all incidents assigned.
- Arrest or refer persons who violate State statutes or Village ordinances.
Requirements
- Minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited university or technical college.
- Citizen of the United States.
- Eligible for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to possess a firearm, no felony convictions, no domestic abuse convictions.
- Able to give credible testimony in a court of law.

Pay
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The patrol schedule consists of 12-hour shifts, 3 days on/3 days off. This schedule creates an additional 120 hours of PTO that can be used as time off or paid out at the end of the year.
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist other Village departments or other law enforcement agencies when requested.
- Assist citizens with vehicle lockouts when possible.
Other Requirements
- Vision correctable to 20/20.
