Police Officer
Position Summary
The Police Officer performs a complete range of law enforcement services for the ECU Police Department. Duties include patrols, criminal apprehension, preliminary and follow-up investigations, traffic enforcement, other tasks that aid in securing the hospital campus. This position is primarily assigned to report and work at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan but may be assigned to other regions as needed.
About the Role
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years of formal education/experience, or higher. Basic Law Enforcement Training is required. Law Enforcement certification by the State of North Carolina is mandatory. A valid North Carolina driver's license is also required. Applicants must be at least 20 years old and pass a complete medical examination, psychological screening, and Police applicant background investigation.
Responsibilities
- Patrols the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan campus and other regions as needed.
- Criminal apprehension and preliminary/follow-up investigations.
- Traffic enforcement.
- Other tasks that support the security of the hospital campus.

Schedule
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 5:45 pm - 5:45 am. Rotational weekends required.
