Police Officer

Pay

• Police Recruit (while attending 16-week Police Academy) - $60,150
• Police Officer (successful completion of the Academy) - $66,013
• Master Police Officer salary range: Top-out rate of pay is $101,853 annually after 10 years of completed service.

Schedule

• Shift differential: Evening shift $1.00 per hour and Night shift $1.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen
• 21 years of age by first day of Police Academy
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Kansas residency not required
• Desired qualifications: Prior law enforcement experience, college courses in criminal justice, and/or military experience.

Benefits

• $1,300 annual secondary language stipend for those who pass a City of Lenexa proctored oral speaking proficiency test.
• Tuition reimbursement $4,500 annual; $25,000 total lifetime reimbursement
