About the role
The City of Missouri City, proudly known as the “Show Me City,” is seeking a highly organized and experienced Administrative Office Manager to serve in a full-time, senior-level support role within the Police Department. This position provides comprehensive administrative, technical, and clerical support to command staff.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an executive assistant to the command staff.
- Performs a full range of advanced administrative support functions for the department and serves as a representative of the Department Head at designated conferences, meetings, community engagements, and public events.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for personnel-related matters, ensuring compliance with required documentation, form completion, and submission processes while collaborating closely with the City’s Human Resources Department.
- Covers departmental purchasing activities and ensures compliance with established procurement policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Interprets and communicates administrative policies and procedural updates to staff to ensure accurate and consistent implementation.

- Prepares, reviews, and evaluates operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficient departmental operations.
- Provides guidance to department staff in various activities necessary to attain operational goals;
- Analyzes internal processes and recommends and implements procedural or policy improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Prepares and analyzes the department’s annual budget and budget revisions, and monitors expenditures and line-item balances to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Promotes the efficient, effective, and responsive delivery of services to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Education, Experience, or Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or closely related field. OR Ten (10) years of experience managing an executive team is desired.
- Experience: Experience serving as an executive assistant to senior leadership (such as department heads, assistant department heads, or division heads).
- Representative: Comfortable representing department leadership at meetings, conferences, and public events.
- Personnel-related matters: Experience serving as a point of contact for personnel-related matters.
- Internal processes: Experience analyzing internal processes and recommending or implementing policy or procedural changes.
- Budgets: Experience preparing or analyzing annual budgets or budget revisions.
- Recall: Ability to work under a 24-hour recall requirement, if necessary.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
Schedule
This position requires a 24-hour recall.
