About the role
This position is responsible for overseeing and directing the operations of the police department and its staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the operations of the police department and its staff.
- Manage and supervise the department's personnel and resources.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain public safety.
- Respond to emergencies and manage crisis situations.
- Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or related field; seven to ten years progressive law enforcement experience; OR any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job proficiently.
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Current Minnesota Peace Officer (POST) License.
- Valid MN Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualification
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
