Responsibilities
- Execute organic, patient-specific CAD designs using established, documented workflows with a focus on all diagnostic and definitive sockets.
- Customize prosthetic designs based on prosthetist input, patient anatomy, and functional needs.
- Prepare and organize digital models for additive manufacturing, ensuring printability and structural integrity according to SOPs.
- Export CAD files for 3D printing and maintain an organized digital archive of CAD files and design iterations.
- Capture and process 3D scans of patient models, prosthetic components, and related objects.
- Convert scan data into editable 3D models and ensure quality and proper alignment.
- Work with mesh editing and sculpting software to optimize scanned data.
- Troubleshoot design issues related to fit, function, and additive manufacturing constraints, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
- Perform assembly of the final prosthesis.
- Prepare 3D printers (FDM, MJF, and LPBF) for builds, and post-process jobs according to existing SOPs and assist with troubleshooting.
- Generate high-detail surface textures and aesthetic enhancements for prosthetic components.
- Train, support, and provide technical oversight to associate CAD technicians.
- Design new tooling for frequently used parts to integrate into part library.
- Assist with R&D initiatives as needed.
- Employ existing processes to accurately move a project through the fabrication workflow.
- Participate in the troubleshooting and development of new automation sequences.
- Communicate with team members on project design and troubleshooting to ensure seamless design-to-manufacturing integration.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
- Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools to construct prosthetic sockets and components.
- Document work and maintain detailed logs.
- Monitor job priorities, ensure they are all completed accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Work independently with support from manager.
- Perform other duties or special projects, as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school program in CAD, drafting, art, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related experience preferred, especially with FreeForm modeling software.
Skills
- Intermediate to advanced CAD skills with the ability to learn and build upon existing software workflows.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and self-prioritize workload.
- Intermediate understanding of anatomy as it relates to prosthetic design.
- Able to work well in a team environment.

Pay
Pay range of $21.63 - $28.85 per hour, plus bonus and benefits.
