LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Pohnpeian-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $1.25 - $1.40 per minute and includes opportunities for advancement and support.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render accurate and concise interpretations of conversations between Pohnpeian and English speakers
• Adapt to various industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and law
• Maintain a professional demeanor and neutrality during interpreting sessions
• Provide services in a variety of scenarios, including emergency situations like 911 calls
• Ensure confidentiality and respect cultural differences
• Work flexible hours to fit the needs of the interpreting sessions

Requirements

• Fluency in Pohnpeian and English
• Cultural competency and understanding of regional and accent differences
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to handle sensitive topics and emergencies
• Education or experience in language-related fields
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write the requested languages (highly preferred)
