About the role

The North America Cross Car Line organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Project Quality Manager Specialist to join the Top Hat, Platform and Modules team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Project Quality Manager Specialist is responsible for developing and executing standardization of manufacturing quality enablers. The ideal candidate must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle quality issues. The Engineer will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing and quality landscape, along with outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of conviction—a self-confident leader who effectively sells ideas and solutions to others, and who demonstrates unquestioned integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem-solving tools such as Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin Red X, and Design of Experiments.
• Recommend and implement cost-effective permanent corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators.
• Manage engineering changes in collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure timely execution.
• Conduct product evaluation tests to ensure robustness of product or process changes before full implementation.
• Serve as the point of contact for engineering quality and all product-related incidents.
• Ensure delivery of third-party quality metrics and provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and identification of new opportunities.
• Develop and execute standardization initiatives and have experience with cross-functional responsibilities in a lean organization.
• Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment.
• Communicate effectively to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership.
• Establish internal and external partnerships and influence outcomes without direct authority.
• Show commitment to delivering a premier product to the consumer, represent the Voice of the Customer to the platform teams, and contribute to team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles.
