About the role
A Project Manager II at Western & Southern leads strategic technology and business initiatives that drive organizational growth and operational excellence. This role follows Western & Southern's project management methodology to successfully plan, execute, monitor, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans using Microsoft Project.
- Cook up cross-functional teams across IT and business areas.
- Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Publish meeting minutes, action items, and project status reports.
- Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Escalate issues appropriately and provide recommendations to keep projects on track.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience leading medium to large cross-functional technology or business projects.
- Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
- PMP certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
Nice to have
- ITIL certification or Six Sigma certifications.
Skills
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, Modern Requirement, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, DevOps, or similar collaboration and project management tools. Support both Waterfall and Agile project delivery, depending on the needs of the initiative.
