Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership of the Psychiatry Residency Program.
- Design and conduct the program in a fashion consistent with the needs of the community, the mission of the Sponsoring Institution, and the mission of the program.
- Administer and maintain a learning environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency domains.
- Submit accurate and complete information required and requested by the Designated Institutional Official, Graduate Medical Education Committee and ACGME.
- Develop and maintain the overall curriculum, rotation schedules, and didactic schedule.
- Oversee resident evaluation, promotion, advising, wellness initiatives, and semiannual performance reviews.
- Recruit new residents through institutional and specialty-specific workflows, such as the National Resident Match Program (NRMP).
- Recruit, evaluate, and support faculty; oversee faculty development and participation in scholarly activity.
- Maintain compliance with all ACGME and institutional policies, including but not limited to work hours, supervision, documentation, and reporting.
- Submit required accreditation materials, ADS updates, and program evaluations.
- Manage resources and collaborate with institutional leadership to ensure effective and fiscally responsible program operations.
- Promote a culture of scholarship, including participation in teaching, research, and presentations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Clinical Psychiatrist Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric care across Inpatient behavioral health services, Outpatient psychiatric services, and Behavioral health consultation-liaison services for ED and medical patients.
- Collaborate with Macon Medical clinical teams to support behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and continuity of care.
- Supervise and provide clinical oversight for: Psychiatry residents and system Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care coordination activities.
- Support resident and APP clinical education through bedside teaching, case review, and supervision.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current board certification in Psychiatry by an applicable ABMS or AOA board.
- Unrestricted medical license and eligibility for medical staff appointment and clinical privileges in Georgia.
- Minimum of three (3) years of documented experience in administration and teaching, with preference for experience in Graduate Medical Education.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, educate, and mentor residents and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
