Summary

Performs warehouse duties related to receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. Provides guidance and training to warehouse associates while supporting safe, accurate, and efficient operations.

Essential functions

• Load, unload, move, store, and ship materials and products
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments and complete required documentation
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment safely
• Maintain product organization and inventory accuracy
• Count, weigh, and verify materials against orders, invoices, and shipping documents
• Assist with hazardous material handling and documentation requirements
• Provide training and guidance to warehouse associates
• Assist with stock replenishment and communicate low inventory levels
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2–4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current Forklift Operation Certification required
• Working knowledge of QED computer systems, Microsoft Office, Eclipse, or related systems
• Must be a team player and uphold QED's core values

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation
• Knowledge of record keeping practices
• Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned
• Skill in lifting heavy packages and objects
• Skill in operating wire and cable cutting equipment, reels, machines, and cable cutters
• Skill in operating forklift or other material handling equipment
• Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas
• Ability to effectively communicate
• Skill in using various hand tools used in preparing, reeling, and cutting wire and cable (hammers, nails, ropes, tape, plastic and cable termination seals)
• Must be forklift certified
• Knowledge of cargo securement techniques (chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap and cargo dunnage)
• Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals
