PM Line Cook

About the role

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Bethesda is seeking a PM Line Cook to join their Food & Beverage Team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the vibrant Bethesda, Rockville, and downtown DC scenes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper service from the front line through quality control, training of line cooks, and ensuring proper sanitation levels.
• Check all items against recipe cards, verify use records, and present food efficiently and of high quality.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and adhere to the "clean as you go" policy.
• Prepare food consistently according to recipe cards and production standards, following server dupe instructions.
• Start food items prepared ahead of time, managing inventory to avoid over-preparation.
• Note out-of-stock items and shortages, assist in correcting food cost issues, and manage par levels.
• Stock the buffet area and return unused food items to designated storage areas.
• Assist in planning and executing actions to address food cost problems, waste, and usage.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• One to two years of related experience in a similar position within this company or another organization.
• Knowledge of cooking practices and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs frequently.
• Full range of mobility, including bending and climbing.
• Continuous standing for extended periods.
• Must be able to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to read and write to understand and follow instructions.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour.
