About the role

The PM Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor role at Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Collection is responsible for leading and training the engineering and maintenance team, developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting and repairing hotel systems, responding to guest requests and emergencies, and managing inventory and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and equipment
  • Assume responsibilities of the Director of Engineering and Engineer Manager in their absence
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel fire system, water system and sewage system
  • Respond to all Guest Requests within a very timely manner
  • Respond to all emergency or life threatening situations
  • Follow established safety procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Log and communicate all essential information in Engineering logs
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices in hotel operations
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential issues
  • Duties include emergency on call status

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience as an Engineer / Maintenance Technician, preferably within a hotel or property management environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Technical school desired
  • Must be able to operate all Hotel systems and associated equipment
  • Must be familiar with associated vendors and able to identify replacement parts, materials, and necessary tools
  • Able to take action and make decisions whenever necessary as directed by the Director of Engineering or Engineer Manager
  • Able to read and follow technical instructions on assembly of mechanical equipment and furniture as well as follow directions on warning labels
  • Able to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
