About the role
The Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as assigned. They participate in the preventative maintenance program, handle guest requests and work orders, and perform trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more. The role may require driving a shuttle van when needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch-up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools, and hot tubs.
- Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on exhaust fans and supply systems; monitor energy conservation.
- Repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request.
- Immediately follow up on alarms to determine location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the Front Desk.
- Perform other tasks or jobs as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as per property requirements.
