Plumbing Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair residential plumbing systems, including water heaters and water filtration systems
  • Diagnose plumbing issues and implement efficient, effective solutions
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds local code requirements and industry standards
  • Stay current on industry regulations, tools, and emerging technologies
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding repairs, recommendations, and preventative maintenance
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize system performance and lifespan
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Absorb and assist with HVAC system maintenance and repair as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential plumbing experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience educating customers on system care and preventative maintenance
  • Familiarity with software such as Microsoft Office, ServiceTitan, Salesforce, or similar systems
  • Willingness to pursue continued education or certifications (e.g., State Plumbing License, Journeyman Certification, EPA Certification, Water Treatment Certification)
  • OSHA and CPR certifications preferred

Skills

  • Solid understanding of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and best practices
  • Proficiency with plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to assist as needed
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in confined or physically demanding environments
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with pipe fitting, cutting, threading, and welding using manual and power tools
  • Familiarity with modern plumbing technologies (tankless water heaters, smart water systems, eco-friendly fixtures)
  • Skilled in using tools such as pipe wrenches, cutters, and video inspection equipment
  • Knowledge of safe waste disposal and sanitation practices

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to distinguish color-coded systems and components
