PLUMBING SUPERVISOR I

About the role

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Maintenance Support Services Division, has one (1) vacancy for a Plumbing Supervisor I position in Pearl City.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies.
• Supervise plumbing work involving the installation, maintenance and repair of water, gas, drainage and sewer systems and necessary fittings and accessories.
• Plan, assign, and inspect the work of subordinates.
• Estimate cost, material, and labor requirements on new installations and repair work.
• Keep records of materials, supplies, and work performed.
• Prepare reports and read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Requirements

• Heavy lifting and carrying.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Experience Requirement: Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in plumbing work involving the installation, maintenance and repair of water, gas, drainage and sewer systems and necessary fittings and accessories in buildings and structures.

Applicable Skills Needed: Knowledge of plumbing supervision principles and best practices; Understanding of plumbing methods, materials, tools, and system operations; Familiarity with plumbing laws, codes, ordinances, and State Department of Health regulations; Ability to lead teams effectively and maintain positive working relationships; Communication skills; Maintain and prepare records/reports.

Skills

Licenses/Certificates Required: Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3/automobile); Valid Hawaii State journey-level plumber's certificate of registration.

Pay

Salary range: $74,560 - $88,700 per year.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
