Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage foremen, plumbers, and subcontractors on ground-up commercial plumbing projects, ensuring alignment with company goals, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop proactive solutions to prevent issues from becoming problems; conduct thorough material takeoffs, site surveys, and planning.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily on-site activities, including scheduling, material control, equipment rentals, and field supervision.
- Review projects with leadership post-procurement; interpret blueprints, coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and owners for seamless execution.
- Ensure timely procurement, production scheduling with the shop, and delivery of materials.
- Oversee job start-ups, inspections, testing, and commissioning; verify complete documentation (e.g., start-up sheets, warranties).
Quality Assurance & Client Satisfaction
- Maintain and exceed industry standards for commercial plumbing installations in ground-up construction.
- Perform quality assurance checks, site walks with clients, and analysis to prevent callbacks or warranty issues.
- Proactively build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the construction team through clear communication and collaboration.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company, project-specific, and OSHA safety requirements; ensure all personnel wear required PPE at all times.
- Document incidents, recommend corrective actions, and coordinate with safety officers for job site visits.
- Promote a zero-incident culture on fast-paced commercial sites.
Team Development & Administration
- Track employee progress, nominate for promotions/incentives, and assist with interviewing/hiring.
- Approve and submit weekly time records; ensure accurate documentation of work activities.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- 7+ years of progressive experience in commercial plumbing, with strong emphasis on ground-up new construction (e.g., full system installations, underground utilities, rough-in/top-out, fixture setting in commercial buildings).
- Proven track record leading plumbing teams on large-scale commercial projects (government/municipal experience a plus).
- Excellent leadership, communication (written/verbal), and multi-tasking skills; self-motivated with strong follow-through.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, performing takeoffs, scheduling, and managing subcontractors.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Professional appearance, punctuality, and reliability.
- Valid driver's license; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, plumbing license) preferred.
- Able to work in physically demanding environments and travel to job sites as needed.
Pay Range
$33 - $37 per hour
