About the role
The purpose of the Plumbing Superintendent position is to manage the manpower to run the day-to-day field-coordinated operations on all construction projects. The Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for safety guidelines, hiring and maintaining the best personnel, proper manpower mix, manpower performance, productivity, promoting teamwork, and producing a satisfied customer.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Promote our safety culture.
- Locate, hire, train, and maintain the RIGHT team members to be successful.
- Maintain a proper ratio of apprentices in our workforce.
- Supervise Training Manager for specific training needs for field crew workers.
- Encourage a team approach to promote effective constructability and productivity.
- Ensure daily documentation is completed daily by the field foreman.
- Review project documents, information, and requirements.
- Assign a foreman suitable for each project and keep the foreman on the job site for the duration of the project.
- Encourage and enforce BIM coordination participation by project foreman and general foreman.
- Hold team members accountable for our 5-star results and culture of accountability!
- Encourage proper use and procedures of company assets.
- Encourage the use of prefabrication to increase productivity and control cost.
- No pre-fab will be produced without Foreman’s sign-off.
- Develop a checklist for weekly accounting of required foreman documentation.
- Hold team members accountable for all required paperwork. (daily reports, 3-week look aheads, Safety, etc.)
- Visit job sites regularly and walk projects to identify quality concerns and future punch list items.
- Work with team members to pre-plan materials and manpower activities to correspond with a three-week look ahead.
- Goal – 1 requisition per week.
- Meet with GC’s every time you are onsite and communicate where we are on their projects.
- Attend and participate in all manpower meetings.
- Fill out weekly manpower tracker and send to Vice President at least one day prior to manpower meeting.
- Attend and participate in all Operations meetings.
- Implement mandatory monthly Foreman meetings to discuss best practices, recent challenges, and changes being implemented, encourage and reinforce expectations, and recognize and reward high performers.
- Include other depts. (Vendor training if possible)
- Participate in all quarterly foreman meetings.
- Performance reviews of all foreman
- Maintain the proper documentation on employees
- Maintain CDR and Procore.
- Project Visits Oversee project status for comparison to the contract on: Project schedule, Quality, Project hours to complete– including overtime & temp labor, Pre-planning- Verify foreman are staying ahead of the team per the 3 week look ahead, Verify that rentals are being used to the full extent and/or called off if not being used, Attend weekly onsite staff meetings with project team as available.
- Site Responsibilities Require foremen to perform punch-lists and/or remediation of deficiency lists immediately upon receipt. Upon completion, documentation will be provided with a letter to the general contractor.
- Walk all projects with general foreman and foreman to create an accurate 3-week look ahead.
- Work with the foreman to use their 3-week look ahead to minimize emergency purchase requests and emergency pre-fab requests.
- Require foremen to be fully responsible for their projects. If a foreman is pulled off a job to start a new job, make sure a proper transition is done.
- Review weekly Job Cost Reports. Monitor project budgets with all foremen. Check on subcontractors continually.
- Quality of the installation, plans, and specification are met. Proper personnel should be maintained along with timeliness.

Education and Experience
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school;
- or 8 years related experience and/or training;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
