Plumbing Service Technician (Zebulon, Elon & Surrounding Areas)

About the Role

Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Review service schedules, with assistance from department manager to maintain schedules in order to ensure timely completion of service calls.
• Coordinate project material and equipment needs, and deliveries in order to maintain job productivity and projected completion schedules.
• Analyze systems and review findings to determine source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
• Double-check work to prevent callbacks.
• Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Complete and forward service tickets in a legible, comprehensive fashion.
• Provide a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided.
• Respond to service calls in a timely fashion, including after hours if assigned to provide emergency services.
• Attend schools and seminars to maintain and advance technical knowledge.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.

Requirements

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability of statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.
• Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Talk or hear.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

The employee is frequently exposed to:

• Moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
• High, precarious places and outside weather conditions (wet, humid, cold, or hot environments).
• Vibration.
