Overview
The Plumbing Service Technician III is responsible for the installation and repair of all phases of plumbing systems including but not limited to: potable water, sanitary water and vent, natural gas, and storm drainage systems in accordance with local and state plumbing and building codes.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning & clearing of sewer/storm piping.
- Perform video camera inspections to properly diagnose problems and assess the situation appropriately.
- Perform hydro jetting procedures to clean, clear, and maintain sewer/storm piping.
- Schedule and perform HVAC maintenance and cleaning.
- Service, repair, and install all plumbing systems and piping supports per code.
- Service and repair storm drainage systems.
- Service and repair sanitary sewer systems and potable water systems.
- Service, repair, and install ejector pumps.
- Service, repair, and install gas piping.
- Identify obstructions to be avoided by inspecting structure.
- Repair and install lavatories, toilets, urinals, faucets, water heaters and plumbing fixtures.
- Install drinking fountains, bottle fillers and shower assemblies.
- Install and test Backflow Preventers.
- Install and test Medical Gas.
- Test all plumbing systems per job specifications.
- Keep plumbing equipment and tools operational by following the manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
- Promote and perform all aspects of Company safety procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience as a Service Plumber.
- Possess Plumbing, Backflow, and Med Gas licenses.
- Experience with operating hydro jetting equipment.
- Experience with operating sewer cameras, machines and identifying possible drainage problems.
- Experience with pipe installation and equipment replacement.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC operation.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of city and national plumbing codes.
- Knowledge of testing plumbing systems to identify and repair leaks.
- Knowledge of basic electrical safety.
- Knowledge of basic safety, ADA Requirements, and state and local building / plumbing codes.
- Ability to install PVC, ABC, no-hub, service weight, copper sweat, copper, pro press systems, pex pipe and Victaulic piping systems.
- Ability to be readily available during emergency situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend design drawings.
- Must be able and willing to follow job-site instructions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local building and plumbing codes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Punctual and diligent work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 hour certification.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climb stairs in an office building.
- Ability to work without a fear of heights.
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate some types of plumbing equipment.
- Ability to use special tools and equipment.
