Plumbing Manager

About the role

The Plumbing Manager’s main priority is increasing production levels of plumbers and ensuring proper profit margins are maintained. This role involves coaching and counseling sessions to boost sales, customer service, and technical expertise, as well as conducting ride-alongs with plumbers/service technicians to evaluate and reinforce skills. The Plumbing Manager will collaborate with the branch management team to reduce turnover, workers compensation claims, and customer complaints.

The salary range for this position is $125,000–$145,000 a year, depending on experience, with additional opportunity for a branch business performance-based bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and mentor a team of service professionals to provide quality plumbing service to all customers.
• Ensure adherence to state plumbing guidelines.
• Follow up with customers from leads provided by field service technicians.
• Identify bid opportunities, prepare bid packages, and provide estimates for jobs.
• Prevent or handle customer issues.
• Develop additional business opportunities by offering Roto-Rooter’s preventative maintenance and priority care programs.
• Conduct work-site reviews to ensure safety measures are utilized.
• Monitor your team’s performance standards weekly.
• Meet with team to review and determine areas where additional coaching and training is needed.
• Accompany plumbers to customer sites to observe performance and provide coaching & training in customer service, sales (including upselling products and services), building a commercial customer base, and safety/OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• Be a self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a bustling environment.
• Hold a MA state-issued plumbing license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills along with proficiency in various software programs.
• Previous management experience in the plumbing industry.
