Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, valves, fittings, and appliances.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, such as leaks, clogs, and malfunctions, using appropriate tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Perform advanced pipefitting and welding tasks, including cutting, threading, bending, soldering, brazing, and welding pipes and fitting.
- Install, test, and maintain backflow prevention devices to protect potable water supplies from contamination.
- Install, repair, and maintain gas piping systems for heating, cooking, and other applications.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute plumbing installations and modifications accurately, coordinating with other trades as necessary.
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and permit requirements, obtaining necessary permits and inspections as needed.
- Conduct quality inspections of completed work to verify compliance with standards and specifications, adjusting or repairs as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety on job sites, adhering to safety protocols, and encouraging fellow workers to follow best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Journeyman plumber license or equivalent certification required.
- Hands-on experience in the plumbing trade, demonstrating proficiency.
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
