Plumbing Inspector & Plans Examiner Part Time

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have experience in plan review, inspection, and code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans for compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Inspect construction sites during various stages of construction to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards
• Enforce local building codes and regulations, including inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions
• Communicate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders regarding plan review and inspection issues
• Prepare reports and documentation related to plan reviews and inspections
• Respond to public inquiries about building codes and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building code enforcement or related field
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
