About the role
Apart from inspecting plumbing and heating installations, the role also involves discussing questions and problems with various stakeholders and writing ordinance violation notices when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Performs responsible and skilled inspections of plumbing installations and heating installations to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with City ordinances or Michigan Mechanical Code.
- Communicates with homeowners, business owners, contractors, and other interested parties regarding questions and issues.
- Writes ordinance violation notices when necessary.
- Proceeds with court action procedures if violations are not corrected.
Requirements
- A Journeyman Plumber License is required.
- Ability to register with the State of Michigan as an Inspector and Plan Reviewer, pursuant to Act 54 of 1986/Act 407 of 2016.
- Minimum five years experience in the installation of plumbing and/or heating systems is required.
Qualifications

- Works 28 hours per week.
Pay
$25.00-$30.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Hours are flexible but must meet the minimum requirement of 28 hours per week.
