$29.06 - $38.93 Starting Salary May Be Adjusted Depending On Experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Current recognized certification as a Master Plumber and Gas Fitter
- Five (5) years or more of experience as a Plumbing, Gas Fitter or HVAC Installer
- Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit
- Possession of a Mechanical or Plumbing certification from the International Code Council or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumbing experience in both residential and commercial
- Conducts inspections of mechanical, gas and plumbing installations, both residential and commercial
- Enforces codes and ordinances to ensure compliance and safety
- Interprets codes and ordinances for construction professionals and the general public to clarify information
- Maintains inspection records by filing, researching, and documenting records
- Reviews plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances
- Engages in activities designed to ensure professional development and awareness of developments in the fields
- Knowledge of relevant practices, laws, rules, policies, and/or guidelines
- Conducts inspections related to life safety, accessibility, and natural disasters to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances
- Issues notices of violations where unsafe or non-code compliant conditions exist and conducts follow-up inspections to ensure corrections are made
- Performs related work as required
