Key Responsibilities
- Design and Layout: Develop plumbing system designs including domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, and specialty systems (medical gas, compressed air, etc.)
- Technical Documentation: Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD and Revit
- Code Compliance: Ensure designs meet local, state, and national codes (IPC, NFPA, LEED standards)
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural, and mechanical engineers to integrate plumbing systems into overall building design
- Construction Support: Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits for quality assurance
- Analysis: Conduct hydraulic calculations, sizing of piping systems, and equipment selection
- Innovation: Incorporate sustainable design practices and energy-efficient solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
- 10-15 years of plumbing design experience in building projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with BIM workflows
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes, standards, and sustainable design principles
- PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Pay
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 - $180,000.00.
