About the role

In our Mechanical/Plumbing Data Center team, we elevate our clients by delivering cost-effective and transformative projects. We're looking for an energetic Plumbing Designer to focus on our fast-moving Data Center market. You’ll design plumbing and utility packages, prepare construction drawings for DWV, potable water, process drains, storm drains, and domestic water systems. You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks while coordinating with a multi-discipline team to establish design bases and develop plumbing design packages.

Responsibilities

  • Layout and design of plumbing systems.
  • Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selecting systems, isometrics, riser diagrams, details, fixture schedules, and general arrangements.
  • Development of final construction documents for systems such as domestic water (cold and hot), sanitary waste and vent, and storm drainage.
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years’ experience in the design of plumbing systems for industrial facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience generating design documents adhering to applicable CAD standards for plumbing design packages within an A&E firm.
  • Trade School or Associate’s Degree.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to plumbing system design.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a dynamic team environment with multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Past experience on data center projects.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $71,000.00 to $97,600.00 and will be paid hourly based on hours worked.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
