Plumbing and Heating Instuctor

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, as specified in the curriculum, in the basics of plumbing and heating
• Supervise students in hands-on trades tasks
• Provide evaluation of students on hands-on activities
• Prepare curricula materials
• Utilize varying delivery methods and media to keep students engaged with the lesson for the full class day
• Ensure that safety, classroom and school rules are followed consistently and take appropriate measures when they are not
• Maintain classroom and shop areas clean and orderly
• Maintain student attendance and grade rosters
• Maintain a professional training environment in the classroom and shop areas at all times
• Place orders for supplies and materials according to school policy in a timely manner to ensure the smooth progression of instruction

Requirements

• 3+ years experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial systems
• Experience working with heat pumps, gas and oil-fired furnaces, ductwork, radiant heat, etc.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and heating theory is a must
• Experience soldering and brazing

Qualifications

• Part-time, Monday-Thursday, 5:30pm-10:15pm
• Base pay rate is $32.50
