About the role
The Plumber/Steampipe Fitter is responsible for inspecting and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures related to the heating, water, gas, and drainage systems at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Facilities, Norfolk, Virginia. This individual will also operate, maintain, and repair medical air and suction systems, medical gases including distribution, piping, and terminal connections, as well as maintain and repair heating and cooling hydronic systems.
Mission Essential Personnel
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Four years of relevant experience OR 240 hours of vocational training (Required)
- Journeyman Plumber licensure must be obtained within 90 days (or less) from date of hire
- Depending on location, facility may require Master Plumber License (MLB) upon hire
- Some sites require Anti-Backflow certification within one year of employment
- Master Plumber License (MPLB) preferred
Schedule
- Rotating shift schedule
- Rotating weekend shifts
