About The Role
The Sr Plumber/Steamfitter position is to take the lead in performing a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of plumbing systems and fixtures including supply systems, DWV system, plumbing, heating, and steam fixtures/equipment. Assists in the work direction of other mechanics, trades helpers and mechanics of other skilled trades.
Responsibilities
- Operates, maintains, repairs, and installs pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, heating fixtures, steam fixtures, regulator valves and various system elements/appliances.
- Responds to plumbing trouble calls and requests within the facilities, using hand tools, pneumatic and/or hydraulic power tools, analyzing equipment and testing instruments.
- Performs routine maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspections on plumbing systems equipment and related equipment/systems.
- Installs, repairs and/or maintains water, gas, oil, waste disposal and high-pressure steam and high-temperature hot water.
- Prepares, maintains, and submits to the Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction requisitions for material, work orders, required records and reports relating to plumbing equipment/systems.
Qualifications
- Required: Technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge plus five (5) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems/equipment, in an educational, industrial or health care setting.
- Sound knowledge of blueprint and schematic reading is required, as is through knowledge of all applicable (local, state, and national) codes.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- PREFERRED: New Jersey Black Seal Engineer’s License.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
